Wanderers fell behind after just nine minutes. Dylan Hayes played a back pass to former Galway United goalkeeper Conor Winn who miss controlled it and Dean Kelly pounced to stroke the loose ball to the net. On 14 minutes, Jake Kelly crossed low from the left but the ball eluded the Bray forwards. Kevin Lynch saw yellow on the quarter hour for a dangerous tackle on Conor Sutton which forced the defender off on a stretcher. Dean kelly fired over for Wexford from long range on 25 minutes.

Former Wanderer, Sean Hurley also saw yellow on 37 minutes for a foul on Hayes in the right-hand corner. From the resultant free kick, Jake Kelly picked out Gary McCabe but he was unable to find the target and shot wide. A minute later, Wexford added a second when Dobbs ran in and slotted past Winn. On the stroke of half time Dean Kelly’s free kick from 30 yards evaded everyone and ended up in the Bray net.

Substitute Cory Galvin fired straight at replacement keeper Keenan Gaffney. Jake Ellis had a chance on 76 minutes when he broke clear on the left but his chip shot was saved by Keenan. In the final minute Ellis crossed from the right but Paul O’Conor was unable to direct his shot on goal and the ball was cleared to safety.
