Bray Wanderers began their pre-season fixtures with a scoreless draw against First Division UCD. Paul O’Conor had an early shot after six minutes that Kearns saved. Former Ireland under 18 goalkeeper, Eric Donnelly produced a great save to deny the visitors the lead shortly afterwards. Ger Pender had a snap shot just wide on 15 minutes. UCD then went close after a good move which saw Kevin Coffey shoot just wide. The students went close again on 35 minutes when Georgie Kelly headed wide from a cross from the left.

Wanderers almost snatched the lead on 40 minutes when Ger Pender’s shot was saved by Kearns. A minute later, Aaron Greene played in Jake Kelly on the right and his cross was deflected away for a corner.

Bray substitute, Cory Galvin went close twice in the second half. His shot on 75 minutes forced Keanrns to save. On 80 minutes Jake Ellis set him up to shoot just over the bar. Om 86 minutes, Galvin ran through the UCD defence but shot wide.
