First Division Limerick FC provided the opposition for Wanderers at a Carlisle Grounds in their first pre season game of the season. Wanderers gave debuts to six players and two trialists from the start.

Dylan Connolly had the first chance early in the game forcing Limerick keeper Freddy Hall to parry the ball across his box and Sean Noble;s follow up eventually blocked.

Wanderers took the lead when Hall’s clearance fell to Drew Lewis and he fired low beyond the keeper. Wanderers doubled the lead on 72 minutes when Troy Carey played the ball off to Ger Pender who was fouled just outside the area. Dean Kelly scored from the resultant free kick over the wall and into the top corner.
