Dylan Davis was called into action after just five minutes when he saved a shot from Colm Whelan. On 25 minutes, Darragh Kelly fired a free kick inches over the Waterford crossbar. The home side took the lead on 28 minutes when Whelan intercepted a short back pass and rounded Davis to score. Two minutes later, the home side doubled their lead when Brennan fired past Davis.
Whelan forced Davis into a save on 59 minutes and a minute later Eoin Darcy was denied by a last ditch tackle by a Waterford defender. On 61 minutes Whelan fired an effort off the Bray post.
The visitor’s pulled a goal back on 80 minutes when Darragh Kelly headed home.
