Academy Teams Fixtures announced for the season

The Academy fixtures were announced this week along with details of a new sponsor. EA SPORTS will become the title sponsor of the EA SPORTS National Underage Leagues as the 2021 season prepares to get underway.  With Government approval to return to play now in place, the new season will kick-off on the week ending June 27th.

The Bray Wanderers Academy Men’s under 19s are in Group A with Galway United, Cabinteely FC, Cobh Ramblers, Cork City, Bohemians, Shelbourne, Kerry League, Waterford United, Treaty United and Wexford FC. The under 19s begin their campaign on June 27 away to Galway United.

The Boys under 17s are in Group B with Cork City, Cobh Ramblers, Kerry League, Carlow/Kilkenny League, Klub Kildare, Bohemians and Cabinteely FC. The under 17s begin their campaign away to Cobh Ramblers on the week ending Sunday, 26 June

Both of the Academy Boys teams Under 14s and Under 15s are grouped with Shelbourne, Bohemians, Cabinteely FC and Drogheda United in Group C.

The Girls Under 19s are in Group B with DLR Waves, Shelbourne, Peamount United, Sligo Rovers, Bohemians & Donegal League.  They begin their campaign at home to Peamount United on week 27 June.

The Girls Under 17s are in Group B with DLR Waves, Shelbourne, Peamount United & Greystones United. They begin their campaign away to Peamount United on 26 June.

Below is a guide to the format of the individual leagues:

• Men’s Under 19: Two groups; each playing one series of games. The competition then splits with the top ten teams progressing to the League phase and the remaining teams competing in a Shield competition.
• Men’s Under 17: Three groups; each playing one series of games. The competition then splits with the top nine teams progressing to the League phase (top three teams in each group) and the remaining teams competing in the Shield competition.
• Men’s Under 15: Five groups; each playing two series of games. The competition then splits with the top ten teams progressing to the League and the remaining teams competing in the Shield competition.
• Men’s Under 14: Five groups; each playing two series of games. The competition then splits with the top ten teams progressing to the League and the remaining teams competing in the Shield competition.
• Women’s Under 19: Two groups; each playing one series of games. The competition then splits with the top five teams (top two teams in each group and the best third place team) progressing to the League phase and the remaining teams competing in a Shield competition.
• Women’s Under 17: Three groups; each playing one series of games. The competition then splits with the top eight teams progressing to the League phase (top two teams in each group and two of the best third-placed teams) and the remaining teams competing in the Shield competition.

 *All age groups will also compete in a Cup competition.
