Bray Wanderers Football Club have launched a new anthem ahead of their first game of the season against Treaty at 3pm today, Sunday 28th March 2021.
The ‘Bray Wanderers Anthem’ was written by ‘Bray Side Boyz’, King CJ (Charles Odilo) and Sammy (Simon Chimbayo) who have been big supporters of the club over the last few years and wrote the song to inspire fans to follow their local football team.
Charles explains; “We wanted to create a song to get the fans excited and enthused about a new season of football. We’re big fans of the beautiful game so it was an honour to create a song for Bray Wanderers Football Club”.
Originally from Malawi, Charles and Sammy now live in Bray and met in Bray College of Further Education. They have appeared on Virgin Media Television’s ‘Ireland’s Got Talent’ and will appear in an upcoming documentary on RTE soon.

Biog: Two lads from Bray, King CJ (Charles Odilo) and Sammy (Simon Chimbayo). Originally both from Malawi but met each other at the music production course in BIFE in Bray, Ireland. Together they have been recording songs and organising live streams from the collage studio which helped them get recognition online and locally. At one of NoWiFi (North Wicklow Filmmakers) meetings King CJ and Arthur Janowsky aka Shadow Man came across with each other, finding comment likenesses in hip hop. They decided to collaborate on a music video for the song called Bray Side which was performed by King CJ and Sammy. Bray Side Boyz was formed in the summer 2018, after the Bray Side music video got released and got viral, which also led to Ireland’s got talent. A decision was made to write an album “Why Not?” and development of a performance program. The band also was spotted by Universal Music and invited for a conversation. So far they have 3 music videos on 3 singles and 1 hour performance program called Global Warming, which debuted in Mermaid Art Center in October 2019. Also At the end of 2019 Bray Side Boyz won the award for the nomination of the Best and Most effective Malawi musicians in Ireland. Currently the band is working on more songs for the album. They also wrote an official motivational song for Bray Wanderers football club. Which was also covered in My town the documentary for RTE.
