Bray Wanderers Match Preview
SSE Airtricity Men’s First Division
Longford Town
Monday August 7, Carlisle Grounds
Kick-off 3.00pm
As the play-off race hots up, Bray go in search of their first SSE Airtricity Men’s First Division success in six games against Longford Town on Monday at the Carlisle Grounds.
Just seven points separate the teams in fourth to ninth in the table. Bray are currently sixth, three points ahead of their Midlands opponents in eighth place.
“The problem for us is the consistency of the performance. That was shown in the first and second halves on Friday against Athlone” viewed Wanderers Head Coach Ian Ryan.
“We need that second half display over 90 minutes. We need to match the intensity and desire, and bring into the Longford game.”
He continued “There’s a third of the season left to play. The first third of the season, we were very good. The middle part probably hasn’t gone to plan. Everything that has gone ahead of this is now irrelevant. There’s 11 games left. It’s shoot-out. We can all see how tight this league is.”
TEAM NEWS
Captain Dave Webster and fellow centre half Cole Omorehiomwan are suspended after red cards against Athlone on Friday.
