Bray Wanderers Match Preview
League of Ireland First Division
Wexford FC
Friday March 24, Carlisle Grounds
Kick-off 7.45pm
Unbeaten records will be put on the line on Friday as Bray entertain Wexford at the Carlisle Grounds.
The Wicklow club have not lost in all seven fixtures so far on the 2023 while the Slaneysiders are undefeated in their last three league outings.
Currently third in the charts after five matches, Wanderers are two points ahead of the opponents who occupy sixth spot.
“There’s noise around the game. But it’s coming from outside rather than inside the camp” stated Ian Ryan who faces his former club for the first time.
“That’s part and parcel of the game. But we are focused on what we can do. Wexford are a very good side. They’ve invested heavily in their squad in the close season. They’ve started the season well and will come to us on the back of the win last week over Kerry.”
Now unbeaten in seven games unbeaten in all competitions having reached the last four of the Leinster Senior Cup, Ryan is hopeful of carrying on that good run in front of their home faithful.
“Even when we went 2-0 down to Waterford last week, we never panicked. There is belief within the squad. You can’t buy that. Our mentality is one game at a time. That’s the simple approach.”
TEAM NEWS
With skipper Dave Webster still building up fitness, the home side expect to have a near full squad available for selection.
Midfielder Darren Craven is pushing to be part of the match day panel.
“We’re roughly the same squad as last week. That’s another positive. We have players pushing for inclusion and raring to go” explained Ryan.
