Cork City match report 26.10.2018

Cork City 5 Bray Wanderers 1

Turners Cross, Premier Division, 26 October 2018

Wanderers were unchanged from the starting team that defeated Derry City four days earlier. City took the lead after 21 minutes when Kieran Sadlier headed home Barry McNamee’s cross from close rang. Morrissey added the second just before the half hour, firing low past Moran.

Sadlier made it 3-0 when his shot went in off the post. Barry McNamee added a fourth before the half time break when he fired a loose ball into the roof of the net from close range.

Sadlier completed his hat-trick two minutes into the second half when he fired home from Griffin’s pass. Wanderers pulled a goal back immediately when Jake Ellis got in behind the Cork defence and fired low under McNulty.

Cian Maher – debutant

17-year-old Cian Maher came off the bench late on for his debut. Cian became the seventh SJ.B Academy player to make their first team debut for Bray Wanderers in the 2018 season.
