Under 19 action v. Cork City

The under 19s drew 1-1 with Cork City at the Carlisle Grounds on Sunday afternoon. Conor Behan went close from a free kick on 8 minutes, driving his low shot inches wide of the post after Odeniyi had been fouled on the edge of the area.

Cork took the lead on 15 minutes when Joshua Honohan headed home from a corner on the right. The home side responded well. Odeniyi headed over from a cross by Cian Maher on 18 minutes. Four minutes later the sides were level. Byron O’Gorman created space in the area and fired low past Harrington in the Cork goal.

Five minutes before the break a goal mouth scramble resulted in Odeniyi heading wide from close range. On the stroke of half time, a mix up in the Cork defence saw Harrington penalised for pulling back Odeniyi in the area. Harrington redeemed himself by easily saving the resulting penalty from Odeniyi.
