Bray Wanderers were without the suspended duo of Hugh Douglas and Ryan Brennan. Derek Foran and Mark Salmon started in their place.This game was played in a gale force wind and rain. Wanderers had the wind behind them in the first half.On the quarter hour, Darragh Noone connected with Aaron Greene’s cross from the left but the ball was cleared for a corner.
Ex-Wanderer, Gary Shaw was injured just after the half hour mark. The striker been taken off on a stretcher after receiving treatment on the pitch for several minutes. The conditions eased for the second half. On 54 minutes, Cameron King got in for Rovers but shot wide.
The only goal of the game came on 74 minutes. Keith Buckley fed Aaron Greene on the right. The striker cut inside a defender before firing an unstoppable effort past Horgan. Rovers then had defender Trevor Clarke shown a second yellow card four minutes later for a tackle on Mark Salmon.
