John McShane appointed Academy Manager

Bray Wanderers are delighted to announce the appointment of John McShane as the club’s Academy Manager.

The UEFA A ‘elite’ qualified coach comes back to the club he played for at U21 level as a youth before heading to the U.K. to study to become a PE Teacher.

Now highly experienced in Education and Coaching, he has a Masters in Coaching Science.

“We are delighted to have John on board as he brings a lot of qualities with him. His appointment should benefit all the schoolboy’s clubs who are affiliated with us, as well as our own Academy players. We look forward to the next couple of seasons” said Head of Football Pat Devlin.

The Wicklow native’s pedigree includes a strong interest in talent identification and player development.

McShane was previously involved with both partner club Cabinteely FC and Bray in management at U15 and U17 at National League level.

More recently, he was involved in the back-room staff of the Republic of U18 Ireland Schools international team for the last seven years – including the last two as manager until the end of 2023.
