Late goal denies Wanderers a point

Bohemians 2 Bray Wanderers 1

Dalymount Park, Premier Division, 23 March 2018

This game was Wanderers fifth away league game from seven games played in the league this season.

Wanderers made four changes to the starting eleven that were defeated in Derry a week previous. Conor Kenna (illness) and Gary McCabe (injured) returned to start while Daniel Kelly and Jake Kelly also started. Cory Galvin missed out through injury while Dan McKenna is away on international duty with the Ireland under 19s. Ronan Coughlan and Paul O’Conor dropped to the bench.

The game started at a fast pace with two goals inside the first five minutes. Daniel Kelly headed Wanderers in front after just three minutes. Within a minute, Bohs were level when Ian Morris’s long-range drive beat Dillon.

Eoghan Stokes and former Wanderer under 19 player Oscar Brennan both fired efforts just wide of Dillon’s post. At the other end Shane Supple saved brilliantly from Sean Heaney’s header, tipping the ball around the post.

Bray started the second half well. Jake Kelly set up Daniel Kelly who fired just over the Bohs crossbar.

Just when it seemed Wanderers were about to earn a deserved draw Bohemians struck for the winner one minute into added time. Dinny Corcoran fired a low shot that evaded the Bray defenders and Dillon and end up in the net.
