Match Preview – Bray Wanderers v Longford Town

Bray Wanderers Match Preview

League of Ireland First Division

Longford Town

Monday March 25, Carlisle Grounds

Kick-off 7.45pm

Bray make a quick return to the Carlisle Grounds to host Longford in a rearranged First Division game on Monday.

The original tie was called off due to snow last month.

The game also starts a run of three fixtures in just eight days for the Seasiders.

Both clubs had differing fortunes last Friday – with Wanderers going down 4-3 at home to Wexford while Longford drew 3-3 with Athlone.

“That shows to me how the league is going to be. So far, it’s been unpredictable” commented Head Coach Ian Ryan.

“Some teams have won a couple, lost a couple. The only thing this year is that teams will take points off each other. If we can go on a run with a couple of games in a row, that’ what we’re aiming for. We also have Friday (home to Cobh) and Monday (away to Finn Harps). So, some positive results could shoot us up the table.”

On-loan midfielder Freddie Turley misses the encounter as he has linked with the Republic of Ireland U19’s for the second of their two friendlies away against Slovakia.

Vice-captain Darren Craven (hamstring) remains out.

There are also injury concerns over the attack trio of Shane Griffin, Cristian Magerusan and Ben Feeney.
