New Bray Wanderers team – Bray Walking Wanderers

Bray Wanderers are delighted to announce the latest addition to the football family within the club – the Bray Walking Wanderers team.
Last month, with coaching support from Age and Opportunity, we finished a five-week men’s pilot programme of walking football at the Carlisle Grounds.
In conjunction with the FAI & Healthy Ireland, our Football & Social Responsibility (FSR) team of Dermot O’Brien and Robbie Doyle have continued with walking football every Tuesday at 11.00am at the Carlisle Grounds.
Today, Head of Football Pat Devlin and First Team kitman Joe Walsh were on hand to present to squad with a new set of gear at the Carlisle Grounds.
The team will be managed by Gerry Clements – who is part of the U15 Men’s Academy coaching staff.
He will be assisted by Paul Massey – father of first team vice-captain Dane Massey.
The team will have use of the Carlisle Grounds for training and matches as well as the changing rooms and team rooms.
The team are gearing up for their first outing on Tuesday October 24 next when they will take part in a blitz at Shoreline Leisure Centre at the Ballywaltrim Recreational Park in Bray organised by Age and Opportunity.
That will be followed by a mini tournament in Leixlip at the end of the month being hosted by their own local Walking Football team ‘Happy Feet’, and will include teams from Athlone, Swords, and Solihull Moors from England.
We are looking for both men, and women over 55 years, to get involved with the Bray Walking Wanderers team.

All are welcome.
