Darragh Lynch scored twice

The under 17s started their league season with a home draw against Cork City at the Academy Ground in Carrickmines on Saturday afternoon in a game played in strong winds and rain.

Cork’s Adam Cantwell received a yellow card in the first minute when conceding a penalty. Last season’s under 15s top scorer Darragh Lynch duly converted the spot kick. James O’Leary equalised for the visitors on 39 minutes. Two minutes later, Sean McGrath fired Cork ahead after been set up by Rob Geaney O’Brien.

Darragh Lynch equalised for the Academy side on 78 minutes.
