SJ.B Academy week-end round up 29.04.18

The SJ.B Academy under 19s suffered their fourth league defeat from four games against Waterford FC at the Carlisle grounds. Waterford were awarded a penalty on three minutes which was signaled by the linesman. Shane Griffen duly converted from the spot. Waterford added a second on nine minutes when Sean Roche took advantage of a defensive mix up in the home defence. Roche had a good chance on 40 minutes following a corner from Larkin on the right, but the striker was unable to keep his effort on target. Daniel Luczynski almost connected with a corner from Shane Flynn on 43 minutes, but he was unable to control the ball and Martin saved. A minute later, Luczynki headed over from a free kick from Dylan Hennessy.

Waterford added a third seven minutes from time before Aaron Horan scored a consolation for the home side three minutes from time.

Under 17s

The under 17s

The under 17s were defeated 3-1 by Galway United at the Academy Grounds on Saturday. Galway took the lead after 10 minutes. Precious Omochere equalized three minutes later. Galway added further goals on 27 & 44 minutes.

The SJ.B under 15s defeated UCD 4-2 away in Marley Park last Saturday. Goalscorers were Billy Vance, Andy Moran, Ryan Bowden and Darragh Lynch from the penalty spot. This was their fourth successive league victory. .
