Under 19s

Under 19 match action v. Galway United

The under 19s drew 1-1 with Galway United at the Carlisle Grounds on Sunday. Aaron Horgan headed wide after just three minutes from a cross on the right by Lunat. Galway took the lead on 14 minutes when Adam Rooney headed home from a corner on the right.

On 28 minutes, James Vance’s cross from the right just evaded the inrushing Horgan. On 40 minutes, James Vance had a great chance but shot just wide. The home side deservedly equalised on 76 minutes when Niall Barr fired a long range effort that beat Greavy in the Galway goal.

The visitors should have taken the lead on 83 minutes. Evan Coyne’s initial shot was saved by Kelly and Coyne blasted the rebound over the bar.

With two minutes remaining on the clock David Gilshenan’s free kick was saved by Greavey.

Under 19 match action v. Galway United

Under 17s

The under 17s were defeated 3-1 away to Galway United last Saturday.  Galway took the lead on 41 minutes through Donal Higgins. Higgins added a second on 58 minutes before Byron O’Gorman pulled a goal back for the visitors on 86 minutes. Galway sealed the win in the 90th minute when Colin Kelly scored their third goal.

The under 17s are at home to Kerry on Saturday, 25th August. Kick off at the Carlisle Grounds is 2.00pm.

 

 

Under 15s

Under 19 match action v. Galway United

The under 15s defeated Waterford FC 3-2 at the Academy Grounds in Carrickmines in the cup last Sunday. Waterford took the lead on 7 minutes before Darragh Lynch equalized on 38 minutes.

Darragh Lynch scored a hat trick in this game.  Lynch put the home side in front a minute into the second half. Waterford equalized three minutes later. Lynch completed his hat trick on 54 minutes.

Under 15 starting team v. Waterford FC: 20 Morgan Griffin, 2 Neil Langan, 3 David Power, 4 Eoin Doyle, 7 Billy Vance, 8 Regan Lennon, 9 Darragh Lynch, 10 Eoin Green, 12 Corey Byrne Dunbar, 16 Andy Moran, 17 Ollie Matthews. Subs (roll on/off): 1 Cian Connors (gk), 13 Kevin Ryan, 14 Sam Brown, 19 Kyle Nolan.

They are away to Cork City in the cup quarter final on Saturday, 25th August, Kick off in Bishopstown is 2.00pm.
