Under 19s

The under 19s recorded their second win in the Southern Elite section with a 4-0 win over Cobh Ramblers in St. Colemans Park last Sunday. James Vance opened the scoring on 20 minutes, Adam Neto added a second on 27 minutes before Aran Horgan put the visitors three goals up three minutes before the break. Vance added his second and the fourth goal for the Academy team on 65 minutes.

The under 19s are away to Waterford FC on Sunday, 2nd September. Kick off at the Regional Sports Centre is 2.00pm.

Under 17s

The under 17s defeated Kerry 5-0 at the Carlisle grounds last Saturday. Daniel Madaghjian opened the scoring on 34 minutes. Cian Walsh added a second three minutes into the second half. Cian Maher then scored twice in two minutes adding the third and fourth goals on 55 & 57 minutes. Jensen O’Connor Cox completed the scoring three minutes from the end.

With four league games remaining the under 17s are still on course to qualify for the league play offs. Shamrock Rovers lead the table on 37 points followed by Galway United on 30 points. The SJ.B Academy team currently lie in fifth place in the table on 29 points level with Waterford FC and Cabinteely. Galway United have played one game more than the other teams in contention for the play offs.

Under 15sThe under 15s were defeated by Cork City in the quarter final of the League cup last Saturday in Bishopstown. An injury hit squad travelled south and found themselves a goal down on nine minutes. Andrew Moran equalized on 70 minutes. The game went into extra time and Cork scored the winner four minutes into extra time.

Phase 2 of the under 15 league commences on Sunday when the under 15s host Cork City. Kick off is 2.00pm at the Carlisle Grounds.
