Team news ahead of trip to Elgin

The Wanderers travel to the north of Scotland this weekend to take on Elgin City in the 2nd round of the IRN-BRU Scottish Cup.

Harry Kenny’s side got back to winning ways in the SSE Airtricity League two weeks ago with a win against Drogheda United and followed that win up with a friendly win against Wexford FC at the Carlisle Grounds last Friday night.

Harry Kenny is taking the IRN-BRU Cup very seriously and is looking forward to entering a new competition,

“We’re looking forward to the game in Elgin this Saturday afternoon in the Irn Bru Cup. Its a competition that we will be trying our best to win. We haven’t played a competitive game In a couple of weeks. Our last league game was a scrappy 2-1 win against Drogheda so we will need to improve on that performance if we’re to progress in the Irn Bru Cup.”

The Wanderers squad travel to Scotland on Friday, however they will be without Anto Flood who is out with a hamstring injury. Meanwhile Peter Cherrie will be assessed prior to the game following an accident last week.

Kick off at Borough Briggs on Saturday is at 3pm.

We wish all supporters travelling to Elgin a safe journey.
