U14’s going down in Phase 1 Group C to Shamrock Rovers

Shamrock Rovers 7 Bray Wanderers 0

With an end score-line that did not reflect the true nature of the game, Bray’s opening EA SPORTS U14 National League of Ireland – Phase 1 Group C campaign ended in defeat.
Shamrock Rovers led 1-0 after 60 minutes at the end of the second third of action last Saturday (July 23).
But the Hoops scored six times without answer at Roadstone Academy in the last half hour of play to register a 7-0 success.
With both teams playing well in an even contest, mainly due to Wanderers’ good work rate, Rover’s fine football ethic for the first hour had them narrowly ahead 1-0 through Charles Akinrimtoyo.
But on a heavy and warm day, all the young Seagulls previous good work drained the energy in the last third as the Dubliners found the net in quick succession.
Akinrimtoyo completed his hat-trick with Sean Hennelly (2), Sean McDonald and Max Kovalevski also on the mark.
Wanderers had fine performances from defender Noah Byrne and the midfield duo of Sean Howard and Darragh Sherlock.
Despite the result, the team will learn from it as part of their overall development.

Bray Wanderers: Sam Baker; Tadgh Worthington, Noah Byrne, Max Free,
Evan Lynch; Sean Howard, Darragh Sherlock; Ethan Doyle, Cristiano Bramley, Josh Delves; Billy O’Neill.
Subs: Billy Martin, Jack McGuire, Jake O’Neill, James Lonergan, Adam Keane, Ryan Bell.
