Under 15s defeated by Rovers

Shamrock Rovers (U15) 1 Bray Wanderers (U15) 0

Despite a very good team performance, Bray went down narrowly to Shamrock Rovers today in the U15 EA Sports National Underage League.

Just a single goal separated the sides after the end of the three 30-minute periods in the Group C encounter at the Roadstone Academy.

Wanderers’ goalkeeper Joe Collins showed his international class by saving a fourth minute penalty.

What proved to be the winner came in the last moments of the second period when James Roche headed to the net.

The visitors were reduced to ten players at the start of the third period.

Seagull’s substitute netminder Sam Baker made a good save in a one-on-one situation after that.

Despite the disadvantage, Wanderers pushed for a late equaliser with Darragh Emmett went close near full time.

Bray return to Ballycorus next Sunday (April 10) to host UCD, provisionally at 2.30pm.
