It was case of missed chances as Bray fell to their first defeat in the EA SPORTS MU15 LOI ACADEMY – Tier Two (North)

In a match moved from Ballycorus to the all-weather at the Woodlands in Greystones on Sunday afternoon, the Seagulls went down 2-1 to Derry.

Wanderers took the lead through Irish U15 cap Billy O’Neill just before the end of the first third.

But a the Candystripes equalised early in the middle third before taking the lead in the same period.

The Wicklow side had begun the competition at the start of the month by beating Sligo Rovers 3-2 at home.

With U14 player Jack Lawless playing a starring role, the Green and White’s took the lead in the 28th minute.

O’Neill was brought down in the box and got up to convert the spot-kick.

But the visitors levelled matters two minutes into the second period through Zhai Glackin.

What proved to be the winner arrived in the 47th minute Glenn McCourt fired in low from 15-yards.

Wanderers had multiple opportunities between then and final whistle to equalise. But could not find the vital score.

Elsewhere in the section, Athlone Town defeated Longford Town 2-1; Drogheda United and Dundalk drew 0-0 while UCD beat Sligo Rovers 5-2.
