U15 Match Report – Bray Wanderers 1 UCD 1

Bray Wanderers 1 UCD 1

Bray maintained their unbeaten start in the EA SPORTS U15 LOI Group B after a hard-fought draw with UCD.

The home side took an early lead at Ballycorus on Saturday afternoon with the Student’s bagging an equaliser just before the end of the second third.

Having begun the campaign with a 2-2 draw away to Shelbourne last month, the Green and White’s went ahead after just 80 seconds.

Daniel Oluwadara Olusola charged down away goalkeeper Karl Andrade’s attempted clearance – with the ball rebounding into an empty net.

In a tight but good, competitive game, in which both teams had passages of domination, both sides cancelled each other out until the end of the opening third.

But the chances did come in the middle third.

Bray sub Cristiano Bramley set up Jamie Lynch in the 33rd minute. But Andrade made the low block.

Seconds later at the end other, home netminder Jamie Dalton thwarted Ben Mahon with a fine low stop.

Bramley had a big penalty shout turned down on 44 before the visitors equalised in the 57th minute.

Kahl Murphy whipped in a free kick from the left flank that was met by Daire Cooke Leonard’s looping header.

The ‘College – who’d beaten Bohemians 3-2 last month in their previous outing – went close to taking the lead in the 64th minute when Dalton again thwarted Mahon.

The custodian came out on top in the personal duel again with the striker in the 86th minute by diving low to smother a goal bound drive.
