U15 Match Report – Drogheda United 3 Bray Wanderers 1

Drogheda United 3 Bray Wanderers 1

Bray ended their U15 EA SPORTS LOI Academy – Tier Two (North) campaign with a disappointing away loss to Drogheda.

But they still secured fourth place and a Shield Quarter Final tie despite United running out 3-1 winners at the MDL Grounds all-weather on Sunday afternoon.

The result left Wanderers in fourth position in the section – with 22 points from their 14 scheduled fixtures. And one point ahead of both Dundalk and Drogheda.

Perhaps the effects of the 4-4 draw (which proved crucial in qualification) with Group winners UCD (in bad weather conditions last Wednesday at Berryfield Park in Enniskerry) took their toll on the visitors.

And it was the young Seagulls fourth outing in just a 12-day period.

The Boynesiders led 1-0 after the first third of 30 minutes play.

They added two more scores after the hour before Cristiano Bramley snatched a late consolation for the Green and White’s.

Subs: Ryan Bell Mihaila, Callum Kenna, Jake Fulton, James Seberry, Liam Billings.
