U15s draw with Shelbourne

Shelbourne (u15) 3 Bray Wanderers (u15) 3

Bray completed their away campaign in Group C of the U15 EA Sports National Underage League with a draw against Shelbourne.

The Reds had won the reverse fixture 2-1 at Ballycorus last March. But the Seagulls led 1-0 after the first third at the AUL Complex on Sunday afternoon.

They took the lead after just five minutes when Max Colbert slotted to the net in a one-on-one situation.

In the second third of 30 minutes, Ethan Cheese doubled that lead with a finish from the edge of the box after a good team move. But the Reds pulled one back soon after.

However, it was 3-1 in the visitors’ favour before the hour. A corner by Eric Schütte was headed towards goal by Alain Kizenga with Phillip Cooney applying the finishing

Yet, two goals in the final third saw Shels level at 3-3. Both teams had chances after that, but the final whistle signalled a draw.

Bray’s three remaining fixtures in the section are all on their home turf.

Their return to Ballycorus on Sunday May 7 next to host Carlow/Kilkenny FC with their other two games against Shamrock Rovers and Drogheda United later in May.
