U19 Match Report – Cobh Ramblers 2 Bray Wanderers 3

Cobh Ramblers 2 Bray Wanderers 3

A stunning Thomas Morgan hat-trick earned Bray their second U19 LOI Academy away win of the 2023 season.

Making their second Group A trip to Cork in the space of just eight days, the Seasiders overcame Cobh 3-2 on Sunday afternoon at St. Colman’s Park.

Having drawn last week away to Cork City, the visitors dominated for long periods and had eight shots on goal alone in the first half.

That attacking threat paid off in the 31st minute after a flowing move. Lewis Jacobs with a deft touch sent Zack Nolan down the wing. His pull back found Morgan who calmly slotted the ball to the net.

In the five minutes before half time, the Green and White’s peppered the Ramblers goal with efforts from Jack Keogh, Daniel Chukwu and Thomas Morgan. But could not extend their lead.

The Wicklow outfit did however do that just after the hour mark.

Morgan doubled up by taking advantage when he pounced from close range following good work from Josh Kerr and Chukwu.

With 18 minutes of normal time remaining, Morgan complete his treble in style. Skipper Clarke played Roland Olakanye in. His effort was blocked by Cobh custodian Ryan Delaney, but Morgan pounced to score.

The home side rallied late on. Craig Doherty made it 3-1 in the 74th minute before David Eguaibor netted in the 81st minute. But Wanderers held on for a deserved victory.
