Kerry FC 1 Bray Wanderers 1
A late Scott Brown penalty helped Bray earn their first EA Sports LOI U19 Academy Group A point of the 2023 season.
The long journey back from Tralee was made even better when the striker converted an 86th minute spot-kick to secure a share of the spoils against Kerry at Mounthawk Park on Sunday afternoon.
Wanderers had begun their campaign last month with a 2-0 home defeat to Galway United while their opponents had claimed a spectacular away 5-1 win over CK United.
Wanderers started well and had early efforts to go ahead with both Hayden Roche and Josh Kerr going close.
At the other end, away netminder Jack Ross made the save of the day when he tipped over a speculative lob from 22-yards.
However, the side from the Kingdom took the lead just before interval as a long range attempt by their captain Oisin Breen found the net.
But the visitors completely dominated the second half and lay siege to the Kerry goal.
Chances for Brown, subs Ben Clarke and Thomas Morgan as well Jack Keogh, Zack Nolan and Roland Olakanye all failed to force the equaliser.
With time running out however, Brown was taken down in the box. The attacker picked himself to make no mistake from the 12-yard dead-ball.
