U19 Match Report – Wexford FC 2 Bray Wanderers 3

Wexford FC 2 Bray Wanderers 3

A brace from Scott Browne and a thunderbolt from Thomas Morgan secured a first U19 LOI Academy win of the 2023 season for Bray.
The Seagulls deservedly led 2-0 at the interval.
What looked like a comfortable win when Browne drove in his second of the game just after the hour to make it 3-0 turned into a nervy finish when former Bray player Harry Curtis found the net as the Purple and Gold’s scored two late goals.
Under the sunshine of the South-East, Wanderers went ahead in the 18th minute when Browne connected with a bullet header from a full-back Josh Kerr cross.
That lead was doubled just before the break, in the 38th minute, when Morgan struck a brilliant shot from the edge of the box after being set up by defender Leon Ajala.
Jacob Wasilewski almost pulled one back for the Slaneysiders in the 44th minute. But his attempt came back off the crossbar.
Browne added to his tally in the 62nd minute with a superb finish as the Wicklow side looked set for all three points.
But there was late drama as Wexford reduced their arrears through Curtis in the 75th minute.
Home substitute Filip Wasilewski then made it 3-2 with five minutes of normal time remaining.
But the Green and White’s held on and emerged as worthy winners to take the victory at the fifth time of asking of the campaign.
