The UEFA Euro U17 Championships are being hosted in Ireland running from the 3rd of May to the 19th. This is a great opportunity to showcase the future stars to the footballing community in Ireland and more importantly to the young players in our community. We are thrilled that the Carlisle Grounds have been selected as a Host Venue and even more importantly, that we will see the likes of Spain, Germany etc. and some of the top nations in European football playing in Bray.
The interest from all local Businesses, Sponsors, Press, Local Clubs, Schools and indeed the local community has been great and we see an opportunity to engage all stakeholders for the love of the game.
We hope to get the whole football community involved in these matches and are looking for your help!
As of writing the proposed games in the Carlisle Grounds are:
A. Saturday May 4th Spain v Austria 4pm
B. Thursday May 9th Greece v Czech Republic 7pm
C. Friday May 10th Austria v Germany 7pm
D. Sunday May 12th Quarter-Final 7pm
The focus of UEFA, the FAI and Bray Wanderers is getting all Clubs/Groups within the County and surrounding areas (in particular Children and getting them) coming to the games, enjoying the experience, adopting a team, getting them off couches and experiencing live international sport and all the benefits it brings.
We, Bray Wanderers through UEFA/FAI are offering ALL Clubs, Schools, Voluntary Groups who adopt a team, free tickets for every child and their coaches/leaders for ALL games in the Carlisle grounds. We hope to fill each of the four games and to promote the event to all involved in football as a priority in ticket allocations to these games.
We feel very passionate that this will help grow football and assist in the long-term success for the wider community of South Dublin and Wicklow.
We are launching our ‘Euro Clubs/Groups Initiative’ which is to offer each Club/Group/School, (min size 20) their own team to follow in the Carlisle Grounds for all of their Players, Coaches, and Families etc.
Some of the ideas, promotions and actions will include;
1. Free Tickets to all Players/Coaches of your Club for the game (in advance).
2. We ask that each Club/Group appoint a contact/Liaison person.
3. We ask each Club/Group to engage all of their players and coaches in the games.
4. We ask each Club to come in the colours of their adopted country, make flags, face paint etc.
5. There will be freebies, handouts, competitions etc. at each match.
6. There will be concessions for food, drink etc. on site for each game.
7. Autographs/Meet opportunity from some Players after game.
We would ask all Clubs and interested Groups to contact any of our team as timeline is tight to start the ball rolling! We would be delighted to see you here in Bray for this one off event.
