Wanderers defeat Longford

Bray Wanderers came from a goal behind to earn all three points away to Longford Town and extended their unbeaten league run to seven games. Cabinteely’s win over Athlone on Friday evening ended Wanderers chances of making the First division play offs.
Longford took the lead through Dean Byrne on 10 minutes when he shot home from inside the box. The home side were reduced to ten men when Karl Chambers was sent off for a second yellow 25 minutes.
Wanderers equalised on the stroke of half time when before half time when John Martin scored following a good move.
Bray dominated possession in the second half with an extra man and eventually got their winner n 88 minutes when Shane Elworthy conceded a penalty for a push in the area. Longford’s Anto Breslin was sent off in the aftermath and Dean Williams converted the spot kick to give Bray all three points.
