Wanderers were held at home by Cobh on the return to league action in this lively encounter. Wanderers started well and Joe Doyle headed against the crossbar in the fourth minute following a Dylan Barnett corner. Doyle headed just wide two minutes later from a cross by John Ross Wilson, Paul Hunt saved from Gary Shaw and Barnett fired over all within the opening quarter hour.

Cobh responded well and Maher was forced to parry a shot from David Hurley. Pierce Phillips then fired a half volley over the Bray crossbar. Paul Keegan forced Hunt into a save on 26 minutes. Two minutes later, Joe Doyle’s effort was blocked after he was set up by Graydon. Aaron Barry headed just over from the resulting corner. On the half hour, Conor Drinan drove a shot across the Bray goal.

Cobh had the ball in the Bray net in the 75th minute but the goal was ruled out for offside, Gary Shaw went close with a header from a Callum Thompson cross. Substitute Sean McEvoy’s powerful shot was deflected away for a corner with eight minutes remaining. Neither side could find the winner in the closing stages.
