Bray Wanderers 0 Waterford FC 0

Carlisle Grounds, Premier Division, 15 June 2018

Cory Galvin in action

Wanderers made three changes to the starting team from the defeat to Shamrock Rovers last week. Conotr Kenna and Gary McCabe both missed out through suspension. New signings from Crumlin United Sean Harding, and Craig Walsh started while Rhys Gorman returned to the starting team.

There were chances at both ends after 13 minutes. Craig Walsh had a chance for Wanderers while Akinade shot just wide straight afterwards from a Waterford break.

Matthew Connor was forced into a save on 29 minutes, turning aside a shot from Cory Galvin.

Evan Moran’s pass was intercepted by Akinade who squared it for Duffus but his shot was blocked by Rhys Gorman. Wanderers finished the half strong. Ronan Coughlan’s cross was deflected by Bastien Hery out for a corner.

Wanderers continued to press in the second half but Waterford were dangerous on the break in an end to end encounter. In the closing stages Dan Kelly fired a rocket of a shot inches wide of the post with Connor beaten. Waterford had the last chance when John Martin released Akinade but the ex-Wanderers striker fired over.
