Bray Wanderers earned three valuable points in their efforts to secure a promotion play off spot. This win leaves Wanderers eight points clear of sixth place Athlone Town with just four games remaining.

There was little goalmouth action in the first half. Dylan Barnett fired a shot over the bar on twenty minutes. The best chance of the half came on 34 minutes when Cobh substitute Lee Devitt got on the end of a low cross from the right and forced Brian Maher into a save. Mark Byrne fired over a minute before the break.

The second half was a much livelier affair. Bray took the lead four minutes after the interval. Ryan Graydon was at the back post to tap home from close range from a Mark Byrne cross. Cobh drew level on 67 minutes from the penalty spot. Dan Jones was adjudged to have fouled Regix Madika and duly received a red card. Jason Abbott sent Brian Maher the wrong way from the resultant spot kick.

Wanderers restored their lead on 70 minutes. Ryan Graydon turned provider this time when his cross from the left fell to Richie O’Farrell who fired past Chambers. Bray defended their lead well in the closing stages to hold out for victory.
