Match report v. Cork City 30.03.18

Bray Wanderers 0 Cork City 4

Carlisle Grounds, Premier Division, 30 March 2018

Wanderers made one change to the starting X1 from the team that was defeated by Bohemians the week previous. Andrew McGovern came in at left back in place of the injured Kevin Lynch. Hugh Douglas made his 100th appearance in all competitions for the club.

Cork took the lead after just eight minutes. Wanderers failed to clear from a McNamee free and Sean McLoughlin stabbed home from close range. Aaron Dillon was forced to save from Sadlier on 17 minutes.

Wanderers best chance of the half came on 27 minutes. Jake Kelly’s shot produced a great save from McNulty. Wanderers had shouts for a penalty just before the break when Daniel Kelly seem to be pushed over in the penalty area. Ben Connolly ignore the penalty claims.

Jake Kelly forced McNulty into another save early in the second half. Daniel Kelly went down again in the penalty area but Connolly waved play on.

Cork sealed the game with three goals inside a four-minute spell. McNamee drove low past Dillon on 65 minutes. Two minutes later Sadlier’s free kick ended up in the bray net after a slight deflection. Sadlier then made it four with a stunning strike on 68 minutes.
